Brown Fused Alumina F36 Technical Data Sheet: Composition, Properties and Uses

Overview

Brown Fused Alumina F36 is a medium-coarse grade in the CHAOYAN F grit range produced by Luoyang Naibao New Materials Co., Ltd. It is positioned for bonded abrasives, blasting and industrial grinding, sitting between the coarse F24 and the medium F46 in the F grit sequence covered by this data sheet series.

Like the other F grades, F36 is specified in two columns, A and A-B: grade A carries the tighter chemistry window, while grade A-B offers a wider window. The ranges published here are reference specifications. Guaranteed values for any order follow the agreed technical document and the batch test result, so these figures form the basis of an order specification rather than a universal guarantee. Before ordering, confirm the grade, chemistry, particle size distribution and packing in the agreed technical specification.

Chemical Composition

Parameter A A-B
Al₂O₃ (%) 95.00–97.50 ≥93.00
TiO₂ (%) 1.50–3.80 1.50–4.20
CaO (%) ≤0.45 —

Grade A is specified at 95.00–97.50% Al₂O₃; grade A-B starts at a minimum of 93.00% Al₂O₃. Titania is held between 1.50% and 3.80% for grade A and between 1.50% and 4.20% for grade A-B. A CaO limit of ≤0.45% is published for grade A only. No CaO value is published for the A-B column, so if your process controls calcium oxide, have the limit written into the agreed technical specification for the order.

Physical Properties

Parameter A A-B
Magnetic content ≤ (%) 0.0340 0.0620
Calcination temperature (°C), A grade 1050–1350 —

The published magnetic content limit for F36 is 0.0340% for grade A and 0.0620% for grade A-B — slightly lower than the corresponding limits published for F24, which reflects the tighter control expected as the grit gets finer. A calcination temperature range of 1050–1350 °C is published for the A grade; no figure is published for A-B. Bulk density and other physical data are not published for this grade on the product page and can be requested when an order specification is being prepared.

Particle Size

F36 is graded to the F grit sequence. The product page does not publish fixed distribution percentages for this grade: distribution limits and sieve fractions are confirmed in the agreed technical specification and the batch test report. The sieve limits for an order are therefore agreed in writing between the buyer and Luoyang Naibao, and each batch is tested against them. If you are replacing an existing supply, you can send the target standard, the sieve limits or a working sample so the requirement can be checked against F36 production before ordering.

Applications and Selection Notes

The published applications for Brown Fused Alumina F36 are bonded abrasives, blasting and industrial grinding. In the F grit sequence it is a middle option: coarser than F46 and F60, finer than F24. Buyers typically consider F36 when a bonded abrasive or grinding process needs a balance between cutting action and surface finish, or when a blasting operation needs a medium-coarse grain rather than the heaviest grades. If trials show the finish is still too rough, the next step is usually F46; if removal is too slow, the step back is F30 or F24.

As with all four grades in this series, a sensible selection sequence is to choose the chemistry column first (A or A-B), then fix the sieve distribution in the agreed technical specification, then validate with a sample in your own process. These notes are selection guidance only and do not replace testing in the actual application.

Packaging and Supply

Brown Fused Alumina F36 is supplied in 25 kg bags or jumbo bags, with pallet options available; exact packing and labeling are confirmed per order, in line with the product page instruction to confirm bag or bulk packing and labeling with the order. Samples are available for evaluation before a bulk order. The full English product data sheet can be downloaded here: Download the F36 PDS (PDF). When sending an inquiry, include the grade, application, quantity and any target chemical or size distribution requirements so the quotation is prepared against the correct specification.
